Welcome to Skillingmark!
We are not many people living here in Skillingmark, in the western part of the
county, Värmland, but we enjoy our beautiful valley with its lakes and
streams where both pike and salmon trout spawn among curious perches in
the pure, clear water.
We enjoy the wide forest where you can hear and see both capercaillie and
black grouse play and afar against a dry spruce trunk, they are
accompanied by the ra-ta-ta of the black woodpecker.
Listen to the cries of the diver from the nearest lake in the night of the
wilderness or listen to rut roars of the king of the forest "the moose"
competing with the calling of the deer under a sky where the eagle proudly
sails forward.
Here in our home district where tall stories exists hand in hand with
belief in the future, development and tradition.

This autumn fruit has its origin on a farm with the name Holmserud in
Skillingmark.

Skillingmark
In Skillingmark, which is a part of Eda municipality in the west of
Värmland, 374 persons live, 195 women and 179 men. Statistics from 31 of
December 2002.
The land area is 114 km2 which gives 3,5 inhabitants per km2.
The nearest cities are Charlottenberg 30 kms, Oslo 100 kms, Arvika 50 kms,
Årjäng 50 kms and Karlstad approx. 100 kms.

Skillingsfors
In our small village you can find the COOP grocery shop (Konsum), a summer
Café and the Christian Lutheran church, the Mill and the Parish cottage.
Close by you find the park "Utsikten" (the View) and shooting guild's short
distance shooting-range, a range and indoor hall for airgun shooting.
